satellite radio service in Canada comes from three different businesses. These are Canadian Satellite Radio + XM, Standard Broadcasting +Sirius, and an exclusively Canadian service called CHUM Limited and Astral Media. The two systems mentioned first have the same service set up in Canada as in the United States. CHUM’s transmission is sent through terrestrial DAB, not by direct satellite. All the radio services to Canada have the approval of Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission. It was decided that 85% of the channels must be all Canadian. They have to offer 25% channels with French language and 25% of Canadian music is required on Canadian Satellite Radio.
