Why Tell Retirement Jokes?

There are many reasons retirement jokes are told.  Perhaps you’re at a reception or party in honor of the one retiring and you want to fill his heart with laughter as you say that final “good-bye”.  Maybe he’s a little down in the dumps about leaving and needs a pick-me-up.  Or possibly you’re just interested in becoming a comedian (maybe not).  There are many reasons people look up and tell retirement jokes.
