Handles_YATYAS asked:

I used to think it was that the tea party didnt care about the social issues and wanted to pull back government spending. Recently I heard an interview on Pat Morrison (an L.A. based talk radio/NPR station) where the Tea Party rep. (not sure which one) was linking conservative economic principals to social issues as well. I dont understand anymore, whats the difference between the Tea Party and the Republican Party? Can you simplify the Tea Party down like that, or is this more complex?

The tea party can put down Bush Jr and other repubs. They were created because everyone hated Bush. They think all seniors will glady take their ss checks but say “screw you” to their 60 year old son who may lose thier ss check.

The tea party wants to cut spending but does not want their ss or medicare cut.

Republican women are two baggers and teabagger women are three baggers and men from both groups just love being teabagged.

Honestly, I perceive it having a great deal to do with the fact that even republican politicians are government employees, so they side with government a bit too often to really have the best interests of the working people in mind.

The tea party is a creation of Dick Armeys freedomworks and the Koch brothers, there is no difference. It’s the same old party of no ideas.

As a rule the Tea Party is focused on economic issues. As with any Group individuals may disagree.

I think the big difference is the the Tea Party expects its elected officials to adhere to their philosophy of limited government.

I believe the Republican party used the term as an election gimmick.

Political manipulation. Tea party is the new KKK. They know they can’t sell the white power argument in 2010, so they have to be creative to sucker the population in, as well as gaining support from the like minded.

Ask them to repeat “whites are not superior to blacks”. They won’t be able to say it.

Like most political parties, these two are similar in most ways…the difference between them are the candidates…some of them have tried proclaiming that they have a better agenda, some would say they have a blueprint for the best structured programs that would create the best government ever but in the end everything is just POLITICS.

The Tea Party is very complex and has no central platform beyond being pissed at the governments out of control spending. I am a conservative at heart and if you get into it deeply enough our philosophy encourages the less fortunate to help themselves rather then enslave them to the government. Too deep to get into in this format.

Fiscal conservatism is SUPPOSED to be a Republican value - hence the Tea Party generally favors Republicans.

BUT ….the Republicans are plagued by RINOs who, fiscally speaking, are nearly as bad as Democrats. Which is why you keep hearing about the ‘establishment’ Republican being beaten by the Tea Party Republican.

Many fiscal conservatives are mad as hell at the Republicans for letting Democrats spend like idiots. (or even joining them)

There are also many Democrats & Independants who think the Obama, Pelosi, Reed gang is out off control.

And this is the Tea Party. It’s just a bunch of people REALLY pissed off about excessive taxation & spending.

Now what makes this a ‘Social’ issue is the Social spending.

There are people without Health insurance. OK.
Do we raise taxes to buy it for them?

See the Social issure becomes a tax issue.

Are you concerned about Global Warming?
Fine, to we install a massive energy tax to discourage use of fossil fuels?

Again, the ‘Social’ issue becomes one of taxation.

Do we use tax dollars to:
    Save union auto worker jobs?
Get poor people sub prime home loans?
    Educate Illegal aliens?
    Provide health care?
    Extend employment?

Welfare, food stamps, school lunches, urban renewal….

The list goes on and on and on.

You cannot divorce Fiscal Conservatism from Social Liberalism.

You have to look like you are for the people you want to vote for you.

The Tea Party basically d the opposite of unions. The Unions tell you that you do the hard work and you should reap the benefits of this and the stinking rich won’t get any money without the workers. The Tea Party tell you that without the stinking rich you won’t actually have a job, so you’d better vote for the stinking rich to make themselves richer, otherwise you’ll earn nothing, rather than 5 cents a day!!!!

The tea party basically fool people. But then I guess the republicans do this too.

The tea party has made it their policy to be contradictory.

Civil Rights for all (but not gay people or immigrants)
Stop the banks making a mess of the economy, but allow the banks free reign (to make a mess of the economy)

    and so on.

The tea party are just more stupid, more ignorant, more contradictory that the republicans in general!
